Living With Water

The Bay Area Resilient By Design Challenge is a year-long collaborative process, bringing together residents, public officials, and local national and international experts to develop ten community-based solutions that will strengthen the region’s resilience to sea level rise, severe storms, flooding and earthquakes. As members of the Bionic Team, the Studio for Urban Projects, is engaged in developing these solutions in San Rafael, Marin, CA. Over the next several months, we have planned a series of public tours bringing the public into a conversation with the scientists, designers, planners, government officials, businesses, and advocacy groups who are working to make the region resilient. Through these “Living with Water” tours, we aim to bring a broader awareness of the effects of climate change on the region; mitigation and adaptation efforts underway, and ways in which community members can contribute to the process of making San Rafael resilient to the changes ahead. Please join us!
